GOD, MY SALVATION...

Barbara Perkins
GOD MY SALVATION—REFUGE, DEFENSE, STRENGTH, ROCK!
In Psalm 62:1-2, 5-8 (NKJV) the Psalmist, David, shares some of the attributes of God and it is a dynamic list, yet not an exhaustive one. (1) “Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation. (2) He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.” (5) “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. (6) He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. (7) In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. (8) Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah!” David ended verse 8 with “Selah!” “Pause and calmly think on that!” WOW!!! We serve an AWESOME GOD!!! God, You are my salvation and because of Your love for mankind, You have always had a plan for redemption, even in the Garden of Eden. You are my refuge—a place where I can get away and be safe in You. LORD, You are my Defense—my protection in the battles throughout the struggles of life. You are the Source of my Strength. When I don’t feel I can go any further, LORD GOD, You lift me up. Thank You LORD! LORD, You are the SOLID ROCK that I can put my trust in and always stand on. I am learning to meditate on Your word, study Your word, pray Your word and most of all, to wait patiently on YOU—my SALVATION. Thank You, LORD GOD, for Your love, faithfulness, and Your compassion. You have never failed me.
