Prayer For Unity

Charles H. Perkins

Prayer For Unity
(Romans 12:5)…so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
(1 Corinthians 12:12) For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
(1 Corinthians 12:13) For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
(1 Corinthians 12:14) For in fact the body is not one member but many.
(John 17:20-23) “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will[e] believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
Jesus did not live, die and resurrect to establish a divided church.
If the Jesus you believe in favors you and your racial group over others, you believe in the wrong Jesus.  If you believe in a Jesus who favors your political group over others, you are serving the wrong Jesus. If  your Jesus favors your place of national origin or your class, or your domination over others, then you believe in the wrong Jesus. If you believe in a Jesus that makes you feel superior to other Christians for any reason, then you believe in the wrong Jesus. If you believe in a Jesus who favors you and your group over other Christians for any reason, then you believe in the wrong Jesus.
Jesus did not live, die and resurrect to establish a divided church.
O Lord, I pray that as we go into the new year of 2017, we can tear down the strong holds that divide us in the Body of Christ.  I pray that we no longer divide over something as silly as race.  Let us not divide over our political beliefs.  I pray that nationalism will no longer divide us.  Let us put aside classism, elitism, racism and any other “isms” that divide us.  All through Your word You call for us to be one, united and on one accord in our love for You.  Let us not continue to put the concerns of this world ahead of our obedience to You and Your word.  I pray that the Church will come home, come back to our place in Christ Jesus.  Lord, You did not say that we would be known as Yours by our race or by the fact that we speak English, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Greek or any other language.  You did not say that we would be known as Yours by our political beliefs, our denominations or our culture.  You did not bring up any of those things.  You said that we would be known as Yours by the fact that we LOVE one another as You love us.  And through this love, we are one and on one accord.  It is through this love that our light will shine and we will glorify You wherever we live. Whatever country, culture or society we are living in, our love one for another will be a beacon of light in this dark world.  I pray that in 2017, we will put aside the childish things that divide us and grow in the grace and love that unite us in You, O Lord.

GOD WILL HEAL OUR LAND IF…

Barbara Perkins‎

GOD WILL HEAL OUR LAND IF…
In 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) the word of God declares, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Father God, You said in Your word that there are four important things that we (Your people) must do for you to heal our (sin sick, repulsive) land. We must (1) Be HUMBLE, (2) PRAY (for ourselves and others), (3) SEEK YOUR FACE (Your way of doing things), and (4) TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS (repent, turn away from sin and ask for forgiveness). Father God, in 2 Chronicles 7:14, You also said that IF we would do the four things, YOU WOULD: (1) HEAR US from heaven, (2) FORGIVE US, and (3) YOU WOULD HEAL OUR LAND. Oh LORD, over the years and decades our land has become even sicker. LORD, we had four parts to do in your plan for healing our land. You had 3 parts to do in Your plan. Someone didn’t do their part and IT’S NOT YOU LORD, BECAUSE Your word says in Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” LORD, please have mercy on us and give us another chance to obey Your word and save us from all the evil that is going on in our land. LORD, help us to put Your will first place in our lives. I love You because You are a Just, Loving God, so full of mercy and grace. My eyes and my heart are FOCUSED on YOU, FATHER GOD where there is help for our land and on JESUS CHRIST my SAVIOR and LORD.

GRATEFULNESS

Barbara Perkins‎

GRATEFULNESS
Father God, I thank you for Jesus Christ, Your Son. He paid a tremendous price to redeem me from sin. Lord Jesus, I am so grateful for the fact that You were willing to give up Your royalty and come down to Earth, as a servant just to save me and whosoever would dare to believe You. Thank You Lord, for Your love and compassion. What an awesome Savior You are to me!

WHEN CIRCUMSTANCES LOOK INSURMOUNTABLE

Barbara Perkins‎

WHEN CIRCUMSTANCES LOOK INSURMOUNTABLE
Sometimes, when there is so much chaos going on in our world, I have to pause and remind myself that Almighty God is still on His throne and that Jesus Christ is still seated at His Father’s right hand. Glory to God! Yes, I have to remind myself that God’s word said, “…Circumstances are temporary, but the word of God is eternal.” I remind myself that God said, “…I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Then I remind myself that Jesus said, “…He always lives to make intercession (praying) for us (those of us who have accepted Him as our Savior and Lord).” So, when circumstances try to overwhelm me, I also remind myself that my God said, “…I will NOT FORGET YOU. See I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands…” Thank You, LORD GOD! I remind myself that Almighty GOD, also said, “…My word will not return void (empty).” I know that I can put my confidence in God because His word declares, “God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent…” Hallelujah to the King of Glory! When circumstances look insurmountable, I remind myself that my God gave me an alternative to looking at the circumstances. He said, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” I remind myself that God said in His word, “…I AM ready to perform My word (I will watch over My word to perform it).” Thank You, LORD GOD! Hallelujah! When circumstances look insurmountable, I remind myself that God’s word says, Jesus Christ is our PEACE and He has broken down the middle wall. Thank You, Lord Jesus for making it possible for us to have access to God and thereby, granting us the ability to go directly to God in prayer. Father God, thank You for always reminding me to trust You and Your word, no matter how the circumstances look because You created the heavens and the Earth long before YOU created man. I also trust Jesus Christ, Your Son—my Savior and Lord. Heavenly Father, You are my Keeper, my Protection, and the Source of my very existence. I am forever grateful to You, Heavenly Father!

BABE IN THE MANGER

Charles H. Perkins

The Babe in the Manger
When God proclaimed in the Garden
That the Seed of the Woman would crush the head of the snake,
That Seed was the Babe in the manger…
When the angels proclaimed to the shepherds that a Savior is born,
That Savior was the Babe in the manger.
When John said that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…
That Son was the Babe in the manger…
When John the Baptist said, “Behold the Lamb of God…”
That Lamb was the Babe in the manger.
The Savior hanging on the cross was that Babe that lay in the manger.
The Savior that lay dead three days and three nights in the tomb
Was the Babe that slept in the manger.
The Savior that rose from the dead is the Babe that was lifted out of the manger.
He Who took away the sins of the world was that Babe in the manger.
The Son of God was the Babe in the manger…
The same Jesus Who is sitting at the right hand of The Father
Was that Babe in the manger.
The Savior Who says, “I stand at the door and knock…”
The Savior Who says, “I only want to love you…”
The Savior Who says, “Please, don’t push Me away…”
The Savior Who says, “Let Me in your heart…”
Was the Babe in the manger…
The Savior Who is The Lord of Lords and King of Kings
Was That Babe in the manger

And that Babe in the manger is Who we are celebrating.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

HELP WHEN WE NEED GOD MOST!

Barbara Perkins‎

HELP WHEN WE NEED GOD MOST!
God’s word promises in Psalm 121:1-8 (NKJV), (1) “I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? (2) My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. (3) He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. (4) Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. (5) The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. (6) The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. (7) The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. (8) The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.” What an awesome promise! Thank You, my LORD! I trust YOU!

Then the Psalmist David declares in Psalm 27:13-14 (KJV), “I (would have) had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: Wait, I say, on the Lord.” We cannot allow ourselves to run ahead of ALMIGHTY GOD and mess up/delay His perfect will for our lives. O LORD, how we need YOU! Help us to wait on YOU and TRUST YOU in every area of our lives! Thank You for Your merciful kindness and for showing us so much love.

The word of God emphatically assures us in Psalm 124:8 (NKJV) that, “Our help is in the NAME of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” Hallelujah!!! Praise be to our GREAT GOD!!! Thank You, LORD GOD, for being our help in time of need, our deliverer and our salvation. I bless Your Holy Name!
