JOY OF KNOWING GOD AND JESUS CHRIST

Barbara E. Perkins‎

JOY OF KNOWING GOD AND JESUS CHRIST

Fellowship with God, my Heavenly Father and with Jesus Christ here on Earth is joy unspeakable and full of glory. I am so grateful to have God and Jesus Christ in my life and I am truly enjoying getting to know them more each day. If I live to be 120 years old, hallelujah! I will thank my God and my Lord for a splendid journey. If the rapture comes before I reach that age, hallelujah! I can say this because I know when the final door closes here on Earth, another more glorious door opens called Eternal Life/Everlasting Life where there is joy forevermore in God’s presence. Eternal Life lasts far, far beyond 120 years. It is joy throughout eternity with God, the Father and with Jesus Christ. God’s word confirms this in the following Scriptures: John 3:16 (NKJV), “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 6:27, “Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.” John 6:47, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” Thank You, LORD GOD for Your precious promises that are wrapped up in JESUS CHRIST, my LORD and SAVIOR. O, the joy They have brought into my life!

THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE!

Barbara Perkins‎

THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE!

The word of God in John 17:3 defines eternal life in the following two versions of the Bible: First, the New King James Version states, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” Next, the Amplified Bible Classic Edition is like dessert, as one slices off a delightful chunk of God’s word in defining eternal life. “And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.” These two definitions make it very difficult for us to miss the importance of what God said in His word about eternal life. Since Jesus Christ is my Savior and Lord, I can call God my Heavenly Father. Heavenly Father, each day of my life I want to get to know You/becoming so much better acquainted with You and Jesus Christ. I want to recognize/develop an understanding of You (as much as humanly possible), as the only true and real God and likewise, I want to delve deeper into Your word and with prayer get to truly know Jesus as the Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah, Whom You have sent. LORD, that’s my quest for the rest of my life and I am loving it, even as I am loving You and Jesus Christ. Thank You, LORD, for Your precious word!

WHAT TO DO WITH CARES, PROBLEMS, ISSUES?

Barbara E. Perkins‎

WHAT TO DO WITH CARES, PROBLEMS, ISSUES?

In the Epistle of 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) the word of God commands us in this manner: “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” The first thing God said in His word is HUMBLE YOURSELVES. GOD COMMANDS US TO HUMBLE OURSELVES; therefore, HUMILITY must be very important to Him. A careful examination of the second half of 1 Peter 5:5, shows that God’s word confirms HIS DISLIKE FOR PRIDE, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Oh LORD, help us to WALK IN HUMILITY so that we can be pleasing in Your sight and experience Your grace--favor. Next, God’s word also said we can cast all our care on Him. We don’t have to handle our cares, problems, issues or whatever we want to call them. God said we can give Him what ails us. Why??? Because He cares about us. What a tremendous blessing God’s word is to us, if we choose to obey it. Thank You, LORD GOD! We can be stress free. Hallelujah!!! LORD, thank You for Your powerful word—our GUIDING LIGHT.
