WHEN I AM SO TIRED, I’M REMINDED…

Barbara Perkins‎

WHEN I AM SO TIRED, I’M REMINDED…

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” That is the word of the LORD for me from Psalms 23:1-3. Often, I stay up much too late trying to finish a project. I realize in the wee hours of the morning, that I need to stop what I am doing, thank the Lord for keeping me, and go to bed remembering that He is my SHEPHERD. Sometimes, to prepare for my upcoming schedule, I have to wake up after 3-4 hours of sleep. But, I am blessed to find that my fatigue has been replaced by the LORD’S refreshing. Again, I thank the LORD for being my GOOD SHEPHERD, the One I can rest in. All Glory and Honor to my GOD—my LORD! My strength, as well as my trust is in the LORD. He’s the CREATOR Heaven, Earth all that is therein! HE IS THE ALMIGHTY KING!!! Thank YOU, LORD!!!

COUNT IT ALL JOY!

Barbara Perkins‎

COUNT IT ALL JOY!
In the Epistle of James 1:2-8 (NKJV) the word of God says, 2 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” LORD GOD, help us to stay focused on You and Your word so that we can be joyful when we go through the trials or tests of life, knowing that You are with us developing our patience. LORD, please finish Your thorough work in us so that we will be fully developed, lacking nothing. Heavenly Father, I thank You that we (those of us who have made Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord) can count it all joy when trials and test come our way. It’s because we can totally trust YOU, even if we don’t know what to do/what decision to make. I am so glad that we can pray and get divine guidance from YOU that can change our circumstances. LORD, oh how I love You and Your word! Your word is FULL OF PROMISES—like patience, wisdom, faith that You will do what You said in Your word—if we trust You totally. I TRUST YOU LORD!!! When the storms of life come to test our faith, LORD, I am grateful that there is shelter from the storms in YOU. Therefore, WE CAN COUNT IT ALL JOY!!!

THE GOODNESS OF GOD LEADS TO REPENTANCE

Barbara Perkins‎

THE GOODNESS OF GOD LEADS TO REPENTANCE
Almighty God asks us a most profound question in the last verse of Romans 2:1-4, to get us to focus on how deep His love is for us. (1) “Therefore, you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. (2) But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. (3) And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? (4) Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” God is the Righteous Judge and He is not pleased with us when we are so preoccupied with the sins of others that we fail to recognize and repent of the same sins. God will judge us all when we act in that manner. God says, DO YOU DESPISE ME BECAUSE I AM NOT JUDGING THE BIG PICTURE LIKE YOU? God sees all and He is not pleased with sin in high or low places—no matter what our status might be in society. He says, DON’T YOU KNOW THAT IT IS MY GOODNESS THAT CAUSES ONE TO REPENT? God is so good, loving, kind and just that He gives every one of us an opportunity to come back to Him when we mess up—when we sin. God patiently waits for us to repent—ask Him for forgiveness, turn from our wicked ways, and start making our way to Him. That’s why it is the richness of God’s goodness that leads us to repentance. Thank You, LORD GOD for Your goodness towards us. Your goodness, mercy and grace are incomparable!

THE LORD GOD IS WONDERFUL!

Barbara Perkins‎

THE LORD GOD IS WONDERFUL!
When someone says, “What just happened?” It can’t be explained but, it was wonderful, beautiful, miraculous and totally GOD. Know that the power of the LORD GOD, His Holy Spirit and/or His angels blew by. We didn’t see them! But Glory to GOD because we sure saw their works and their results. Hallelujah to the LORD! There might be times when our backs are against the wall, not knowing what to do. But if we truly look to the LORD, trusting Him, He will show up. The following passages of scriptures can encourage us, God’s people, to trust Him.
Exodus 14:13-16, 19-22 (Pharaoh plans to destroy God’s people.)
19 “And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. 20 So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night. 21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. 22 So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. 23 And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. 24 Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians. 25 And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, ‘Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.’”
Acts 12:5-11 (King Herod places Peter in prison with plans to kill him.)
5 “Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. 6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, ‘Arise quickly!’ And his chains fell off his hands. 8 Then the angel said to him, ‘Gird yourself and tie on your sandals’; and so he did. And he said to him, ‘Put on your garment and follow me.’ 9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. 11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.’”

THE LORD, MY STRENGTH AND MY SHIELD

Barbara Perkins‎

THE LORD, MY STRENGTH AND MY SHIELD
In Psalms 28:6-7 (NKJV), the word of God says, (6) “Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplications! (7) The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.” It is a blessing when you know that the LORD, YAHWEH, hears and answers our prayers. He is I AM! The God Who Always Is! The LORD is all we will ever need in any situation, if we trust Him and His word. That’s the God that I serve! He is my strength and my song. That’s why I can praise Him. Hallelujah to the LORD!

GOD'S UNDYING LOVE

Charles H. Perkins

GOD'S UNDYING LOVE
Romans 8:35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Lord, I thank You and I praise and worship You.  How amazing and wonderful that Your love for me is unshakeable.  Nothing can separate me from Your love. Your mercy and grace give me assurance that I can always trust in You and Your love.  Now and forever, Your love sustains me. Thank You, my Lord and my God…Thank You!!!
