HOW DO WE OVERCOME?

BARBARA E. PERKINS

HOW DO WE OVERCOME?

Father God, Your word tells me how to be an overcomer against the devil’s strategies or anything that might interfere with my focus on You. Since I trust Your word, I have to read it, meditate on it, as well as speak it (say what it says about me) daily. In Revelation 12:11 (NKJV), God’s word clearly states, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” These few Scriptures are examples of how to become an overcomer. Father God, Your word in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 tells me that circumstances are light afflictions and they are temporary so I can wait them out with You cheering me on. Father God, In Isaiah 43:1-3, Your word tells me that I might have to pass through waters and rivers, but, they shall not overflow me or when I pass through the fires of life’s challenges I will not be burned nor scorched because I belong to You and You are with me to bring me to my victory. HALLELUJAH!!! Your word in 1 John 5:14-15 encourages me to really trust You and Your word then You respond to my petitions in a dynamic way as I line my life up with Your will. Wonderfully in 3 John 2, Heavenly Father, You called me Your BELOVED. Saying, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” Oh, how easy it is to overcome knowing that I am Your Beloved. I love You, Heavenly Father, and I thank You for loving me and for making me an overcomer. Praise Your Holy Name!

GOD’S PROTECTION FOR HIS PEOPLE

BARBARA E. PERKINS

GOD’S PROTECTION FOR HIS PEOPLE

The circumstances that surround us in our everyday world can cause us to waver in our faith, if we don’t read, mediate, and study God’s word daily. Those circumstances can cause us to wonder how are we going to survive. But, in spite of the pandemonium that is on display daily in our world, we can still trust Almighty God to be our protection, because if we have made Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord then God is our Heavenly Father (John 1:12). Our Father God made many promises to us for such a time as this. His word promises in Psalm 91:1-2 (NKJV), “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.’” No matter how bleak it looks in our world, LORD, I am going to trust You, knowing You can handle any situation on the world stage. I am going to continue to pray, do my best to live up to what You, Father God, called me to do, and thank You daily for fulfilling Your promises in the lives of my loved ones and me along with all those that You place on my heart to pray for. Father, I love how You allow my family and me, as well as whosoever will, come to live in Your secret place, where we have the safety of a fortress—a heavenly fortified place of protection. I am going to continue to say and believe what You, Heavenly Father, said in Your word You will do because Your word is so awesome, bringing peace and comfort to those of us living in YOUR secret place. Thank You, LORD GOD for being such a wonderful Heavenly Father. Thank You, Jesus, My Glorious Savior for inviting me to be a part of Your Beautiful Family. I feel so blessed being able to trust You, Father God, Your word, and Your Son, Jesus Christ, as my protection in every situation. Hallelujah!!! Glory to You, Heavenly Father and to Jesus Christ my Lord!!!

LORD GOD, PLEASE HEAL OUR LAND!

BARBARA E. PERKINS

LORD GOD, PLEASE HEAL OUR LAND!

LORD, Your word in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) affirms, “If MY PEOPLE who are CALLED BY MY NAME will HUMBLE themselves, and PRAY and SEEK MY FACE, and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, then I WILL HEAR from heaven, and WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN and HEAL THEIR LAND.” LORD, have mercy on us and heal our land. We desperately need Your mercy, LORD GOD. When we look at our land/our world and see it getting worse and worse each day, it is heartbreaking. But, LORD, as I read and carefully examine Your word, I realize that You are waiting on us because You told us (Your people) what to do: (1) Humble ourselves, (2) Pray, (3) Seek Your face, and (4) Turn from our wicked ways. That’s all it would take for You to (1) Hear us, (2) Forgive us of our sin, and (3) Heal our land. LORD, because I trust You, I know You will do what You promised in Your word, IF we will do our part. I believe we can imply that If we (Your people) who are called by Your name WILL NOT humble ourselves, and WILL NOT pray and seek Your face (Your way of doing/conducting ourselves), and turn from our wicked ways, THEN You WILL NOT hear from heaven and forgive our sin and WILL NOT heal our land. LORD GOD, forgive us, open our eyes and hearts so that we will do our part, those FOUR simple commands in 2 Chronicles 7:14, which if followed, will allow You to heal our land. LORD GOD, please change our hearts so that we will be doers of Your word and not hearers only. Please forgive us, LORD!

THANK YOU, LORD!

BARBARA E. PERKINS

THANK YOU, LORD!

Where would I have been without the LORD on my side? As I look back over my life; what would I have done to survive the pains and disappointments of life had it not been for the LORD? Thank You, LORD GOD for bringing Your Holy Spirit into my life to guide me and teach me Your word. Thank You, LORD GOD for guiding me through all the periods of torrential storms. Thank You, LORD GOD for Your mercy and grace. Thank You, Jesus, my Savior and Lord for being my peace and bringing me into right fellowship with Our Father God. Father God, where would I be if You had not been motivated by love to send Your Son, Jesus, to save me from my sins? HALLELUJAH!!! Thank You, LORD GOD!!! Thank You, Lord Jesus, my SOURCE of life. Heavenly Father, I am eternally grateful for the loving kindness You keep on showing me. Your word in Psalm 138:1-3 (NKJV) expresses the cry of my heart to YOU, my GREAT GOD: “I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. 2 I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. 3 In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.”
