AN URGENT CALL FOR PRAYER!!!

BARBARA E. PERKINS‎

AN URGENT CALL FOR PRAYER!!!

God’s familiar word in 2Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) has an urgent call for us to pray for our nation for such a time as this New Year, this month, this week, this day, this very hour. Almighty God’s word for us right now IS, “IF My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, THEN I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” The LORD is speaking directly to US, HIS PEOPLE, in this passage of Scripture. Father God, thank You for giving us YOUR KEYS for getting our prayers answered. You have reminded us to #1 BE HUMBLE, #2 PRAY, #3 SEEK YOUR FACE (SEEK YOU/YOUR WAY OF DOING…), #4 TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS (REPENT). These KEYS ARE NOT A SUGGESTION FROM GOD TO ANSWER OUR PRAYERS, they are an URGENT COMMAND FROM HIM. THEN, GOD’S WORD says, I will: #1 HEAR (you) from heaven, #2 FORGIVE your sin, and #3 HEAL your land. Father God Your word also tells us in John 14:13-14, Whatever we ASK IN JESUS’ NAME, HE WILL DO so that YOU, Father God, are glorified... LORD, thank You for YOUR IMPORTANT KEYS to answering our prayers. Help us to be doers of your word and not hearers only, deceiving ourselves and hindering the answers to our prayers. Many of us have already been praying a very long time for this nation and other issues. LORD help us to remember Your word for us in Galatians 6:9, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Thank You, LORD for showing us (Your people) how to grow closer to You and Jesus Christ and to read Your word, to get answers to our prayers in our personal lives, as well as for every aspect of our nation. Father God, thank You for the encouragement that comes from Your word, as in 2Corinthians 4:17-18, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are TEMPORARY, but the things which are not seen are ETERNAL.” Father God, thank You for revealing to us the urgent need for prayer for such a time as this. All Glory, honor, praise, and gratitude to our Great God and to Jesus Christ because of Their love for us and their desire to answer our prayers.

THE LORD IS GOOD!

BARBARA E. PERKINS

THE LORD IS GOOD!

In 1Chronicles 16:34 (NKJV) God’s word declares, “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” Thank You, LORD! A year just closed and there was tremendous chaos in our nation which spread like wildfire, speedily scorching other nations as well. Our nation also suffered many other devastating calamities that have continued to follow us right into the New Year. But God, in His abundant mercy and grace did not forget about us because He is good and He has kept us, protected us. So, we can choose to focus on the comfort, peace and the assurance that His word brings instead of the circumstances. Jesus once said to His disciples, as they entered a ship on a mission, “We are going to the other side (of the sea),” (paraphrased). Then suddenly they faced turbulent winds against their ship and it looked like all hope was gone. But Jesus comforted His disciples and spoke to the circumstances that were trying to steal their lives and the winds subsided (Matthew 8:18-27). God, in His great mercy, has brought us to the other side—into 2018, in spite of the dramatic circumstances that are still plaguing our nation. The LORD is good! While turbulent raging winds continue to blow across our land, God’s word offers comfort, peace, and assurance that HE IS STILL ALMIGHTY GOD! HE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO MEET OUR NEEDS IN ANY SITUATION. We can receive further assurance from 1John 5:14-15 because GOD ANSWERS OUR PRAYERS THAT ARE ACCORDING TO HIS WILL. Then Psalm 91 emphasizes that God is our REFUGE (our safe, secret hiding place) and there are multitudes of His promises in other Scriptures. Glory to Almighty God! He is so good! God’s word confirms another important fact on this matter in Numbers 23:19, “GOD IS NOT A MAN, THAT HE SHOULD LIE, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, LORD GOD, my Heavenly Father!!! You brought my family and me over to the other side—into 2018 and I know that You are not going to give up on us (Hebrews 13:5). Thank You, LORD GOD, for always hearing and answering the prayers of Your people. Hallelujah!!! I praise Your Holy Name for YOU ARE TRULY GOOD!!!

CAST YOUR BURDEN ON THE LORD

BARBARA E. PERKINS

CAST YOUR BURDEN ON THE LORD

The word of Almighty God (El Shaddai, the all sufficient God, Who is more than enough to meet our need in any situation) in Psalm 55:22 (NKJV) says, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” There is a song that I remember from many years ago that went like this, “Cast Your Burdens On The LORD And Leave Them There.” I don’t know who the author/writer is but, it sounds like excellent advice because God lets us know in His word that He cares about us so much and He reminds us often. In Matthew 11:28-30 the word of God again confirms how much He cares about our well-being: “28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” It is so wonderful to be able to cast my burdens/cares on the Lord God, my Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ, my Savior and Lord and leave them there. It is also wonderful knowing that the Lord will sustain me and provide rest for mind soul. How sweet it is to rest in the Lord (Psalm 37:7)! How sweet it is to know that Almighty God and His Son, Jesus Christ, are always looking out for me. I serve a great God who is so full of love and compassion for His people. Thank You, Heavenly Father!

I TRUST YOU, LORD…!

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1John 5:14-15 NKJV)
I trust You, LORD and I trust Your Word!

“Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill it.” (Jeremiah 1:12Amplified Bible AMP) I trust You, LORD and I trust Your Word!

“AND WHATEVER YOUB ASK IN MY NAME, I WILL DO, THAT THE FATHER MAY BE GLORIFIED IN THE SON. IT YOU ASK ANYTHING IN MY NAME, I WILL DO IT.” (John 14:13-14 NKJV) I trust You, LORD and I trust Your Word!

“Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:24 NKJV) I trust You, LORD and I trust Your Word!
