The word of God in 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NKJV) declares, “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” LORD GOD, help us to focus on the magnitude of Your word because it confirms that things which are seen (circumstances) are temporary (subject to change), but You, Almighty God, and Your word will never change (Malachi 3:6). Your word is eternal! LORD GOD, I believe that You have an answer for every situation in our lives, if we would just trust You (Isaiah 12:2) and live our lives according to Your word. So we ask, if the circumstances are political, are there any answers from the LORD to deal with them? Yes, 1 Timothy 2:1-3 tells us to pray for all men (mankind), especially those in authority, so that we can live peaceably. Is there answer for us when the circumstances are job related? 1 Peter 5:7-9 and James 5:16-18 admonishes us to pray, give the circumstance to the LORD, and adhere to His word. What if the circumstances involve our health or that of our loved ones? We still have to stay focused on believing God’s word, as in 2 Corinthians 4:17 and 1 Peter 2:24. What about the circumstances that involve our families from time to time? Yes, God’s word offers strength to families. We must immerse ourselves in God’s eternal word continuing to pray and stand, knowing that God will answer our prayers if we live according to His word, as in Ephesians 6:10-18, Isaiah 65:23-24, and Proverbs 11:21 expecting to see the salvation of the LORD. Is there an answer for adverse financial circumstances? Yes, focus on God’s word in Joshua 1:8-9 and Isaiah 48:17, which commands us to read and meditate God’s word day and night, purposing do His word—then we will prosper. LORD, I thank You for showing us how to change the circumstances in our lives by reading and meditating Your word, studying Your word, praying Your word, and equally important, obeying Your word. Most important of all, LORD, thank You for helping us to develop a better relationship with YOU.
