God’s word in Genesis 1:27-28 (NKJV) declares, 27 “SO GOD CREATED MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGE; in the image of God He created him; MALE and FEMALE He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’” Why was man created in God’s image and given so much power? Almighty God is so wonderful because He tells us in His word what He is doing and why He is doing it; so that we can follow His plan for our lives.  God has a road map, the Bible, that He wants us to follow.  We can, if we pray as well as continue in His word and not deviate, as Adam and Eve did in the fall. The following Scriptures will explain why God created us.  In Ephesians 2:10, the word of God said this about why He created us, “For we are His (God’s) workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”  God created us for GOOD WORKS.  We need Jesus in our lives and we need His power to do good works.  Do you have Jesus Christ in your life to empower you to do the kind of good works that Almighty God ordained for your life?  In Isaiah 43:7, the word of God said it this way, “Everyone who is called by My name, WHOM I HAVE CREATED FOR MY GLORY; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”  Almighty God said He created us for His GLORY.  Are you bringing glory to God with your lifestyle?  1 Peter 2:5 said, “You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, TO OFFER UP SPIRITUAL SACRIFICES acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”  God wants us offering spiritual sacrifices to Him.  Spiritual sacrifices are doing what is good by God’s standards (Hebrews 13:15-16, Romans 12:1 and Ephesians 5:2).  Are you offering spiritual sacrifices to God?  In Isaiah 43:21 God’s word declared, “This people I have formed for Myself; THEY SHALL DECLARE MY PRAISE.  God wants us praising Him.  Are you praising God for the little and the big things that He does every day in your life, for example, waking you up day after day? 1 Peter 2:9 said, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light…”  God created us in His image to be His own special people: to do good works, to bring Him glory, to offer spiritual sacrifices to Him, and to offer Him praise—conduct that is well pleasing to Almighty God.

Would you like to be saved and develop a relationship with God as your Heavenly Father?  If you would really like to know God, invite His Son, Jesus Christ, into your heart.  Please pray this prayer:  Dear God, please forgive me of my sins.  I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son.  I believe that He died on the cross, shed His blood, and rose from the grave for my salvation.  I confess Jesus right now as my Savior and Lord.  God fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can live a life that pleases You.
