THE LORD, OUR GOD IS MERCIFUL
The word declares in 2 Samuel 22:26-28 (NKJV), “With the
merciful You (God) will show Yourself merciful; with a blameless man (or
mankind) You will show Yourself blameless; with the pure You will show Yourself
pure; and with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd. You will save the
humble people; but Your eyes are on the haughty, that You may bring them down.”
The LORD is so full of mercy for us. It is evident by the fact that He sent His
Son, Jesus Christ to Earth, to be a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus Christ’s
sacrifice was to bring us back into a right relationship with the Father. Now
that’s mercy! We don’t get what we deserve for sin—death. We get what we don’t
deserve—grace, God unmerited favor. We also get everlasting life when we accept
Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. Hallelujah!!! In addition, the LORD shows
Himself blameless and pure in heart to those who show those characteristics,
but shrewd to the devious. He saves the humble, but brings down the haughty.
That too, is mercy. Glory to God!!! This is a minute description of the LORD’s
mercy that we experience daily and He is the Righteous Judge. He also gives us
many opportunities to be merciful. Thank You, LORD God, for Your great mercy.
