THAT I MAY
KNOW HIM
God’s word
in Philippians 3:10-14 (NKJV) declares, 10 “That I may know Him and the power
of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to
His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on,
that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things
which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of
God in Christ Jesus.” I strive each day to really get to know Jesus The Christ
and The Father, God. I have read these Scriptures many times. The more I read
them, the more I realize the power, the greatness, and the love of God. The
more I read them, the more I recognize the overwhelming sacrifice that my Lord
and Savior Jesus made to redeem me and all humanity. What a tremendous sacrifice
for my sins (for our sins) and oh, what a love! Such obedience Jesus showed in
submitting to His Father’s will to save me and whosoever will believe in God’s
word. Then, if that wasn’t enough, the word of God tells me to forget about the
past because of its bondage. Press toward the GOAL, the PRIZE—CHRIST JESUS.
That I may know HIM! There is power in knowing Jesus The Christ. In getting to
know Jesus, I get to know The Father. In John’s Gospel 17:21-22, Jesus said, My
Father and I are one. Since Jesus is my Savior and Lord, I am in Him. He’s in
God! HALLELUJAH!!! I am forever grateful for the insight I gain each time I
read God’s word.
