A THOUGHT ON CHANGE
(Philippians 1:6) “…being confident of
this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it
until the day of Jesus Christ;”
(Hebrews 12:2) “…looking unto Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith,”
Every Sunday
people see Joe at church and wonder why he is there. Or, more to the point why does the
pastor allow him to come. After all, everyone agrees that he is a dog. Even the pastor agrees that he
is a dog. But, what they don’t know is that for most of his life Joe was a “low down
dirty” dog. Then, after giving his life to The Lord, he became a “dirty” dog. Now,
after being in church for a while, he is just a “dog”. As time goes on he will
eventually become the man that God wants him to be.
Jacob was a
liar. David committed adultery and murder. Peter was a knuckle head. Paul was a
murderer. Remember, God works with and in people as He
wills, not as we will. If people cannot change,
then Jesus wasted His time going to the cross.
Lord, thank
You, that through Your mercy, patience and grace, you give us time and
opportunity to be transformed into the men and women that You desire us to
be. No matter where we start, through
Your Word and the power of The Holy Spirit You continually mold us, shape us
into and sanctify us. Thank You, Lord
that You are the author and finisher of our faith and that You will complete
the good work that You have started in us. Thank You for Your love.
Would you
like to experience God’s presence and forgiveness by inviting God’s Son, Jesus
Christ, into your heart? Then pray this prayer: Dear God, I believe that Jesus
Christ is Your Son. I confess that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I believe
that Jesus died on the cross, shed His blood, and rose from the grave for my
salvation. I confess Him right now as my Savior and Lord. God fill me with your
Holy Spirit so that I can live a life that pleases You. In Jesus’ Name! Amen!
If you prayed this prayer and meant it, you are saved. Welcome to God’s Family!
