A THOUGHT ON CHANGE

CHARLES H. PERKINS

 A THOUGHT ON CHANGE

(Rom. 12:2) “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

(Philippians 1:6) “…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”

(Hebrews 12:2) “…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,”

Every Sunday people see Joe at church and wonder why he is there. Or, more to the point why does the pastor allow him to come. After all, everyone agrees that he is a dog. Even the pastor agrees that he is a dog. But, what they don’t know is that for most of his life Joe was a “low down dirty” dog. Then, after giving his life to The Lord, he became a “dirty” dog. Now, after being in church for a while, he is just a “dog”. As time goes on he will eventually become the man that God wants him to be.
Jacob was a liar. David committed adultery and murder. Peter was a knuckle head. Paul was a murderer.   Remember, God works with and in people as He wills, not as we will.  If people cannot change, then Jesus wasted His time going to the cross.

Lord, thank You, that through Your mercy, patience and grace, you give us time and opportunity to be transformed into the men and women that You desire us to be.  No matter where we start, through Your Word and the power of The Holy Spirit You continually mold us, shape us into and sanctify us.  Thank You, Lord that You are the author and finisher of our faith and that You will complete the good work that You have started in us. Thank You for Your love.

Would you like to experience God’s presence and forgiveness by inviting God’s Son, Jesus Christ, into your heart? Then pray this prayer: Dear God, I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I confess that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I believe that Jesus died on the cross, shed His blood, and rose from the grave for my salvation. I confess Him right now as my Savior and Lord. God fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can live a life that pleases You. In Jesus’ Name! Amen! If you prayed this prayer and meant it, you are saved. Welcome to God’s Family!

THE LORD SAID, “SEEK MY FACE!” Part 2

BARBARA E. PERKINS

THE LORD SAID, “SEEK MY FACE!”
Part 2
In Psalm 27:8 (NKJV), the Psalmist David declared God's word, "When You said, 'Seek My face,'  My heart said to You, "Your face, LORD, I will seek.”

King Hezekiah chose to seek the LORD’s face when he was about to die.  The LORD healed him and added 15 years to his life (1King 20:1-7).  King David chose to seek the LORD’s face, and he became the King of Judah (2 Samuel 2:1-4).  His life had been filled with so much suspense, as well as challenges.  But in spite of those challenges and shortcomings, the most extraordinary fact is that Jesus Christ came into the Earth realm through the seed of David (Matthew 1:1-6).  Also significant, Jesus continually sought His Father God’s face in prayer (Matthew 26:39, Mark 1:35, Luke 5:16, 6:12).  The paramount benefit of Jesus’ sacrifice, as well as His prayers is the fact that eternal life was made available to us (John 17:1-26).  Praise the Lord!  That was just the beginning of the mighty move of God in the Earth realm through Jesus Christ our perfect example.  His disciples took up His mantle, learned to seek the LORD’s face, and turned the world upside down (Mark 16:15-20, Acts 17:1-34).  Today, we still have to believe God’s powerful word and step out in faith and do those things that the LORD called us to do.  When we seek the LORD’S face, our possibilities become limitless because He is our Heavenly Father and He is working through us with signs following.  “For with God nothing will be impossible (Luke 1:37).”  Seek the LORD Church, seek His face!!!

Would you like to be saved and develop a relationship with God as your Heavenly Father?  If you would really like to know God, invite His Son, Jesus Christ, into your heart.  Please pray this prayer:  Dear God, please forgive me of my sins.  I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son.  I believe that He died on the cross, shed His blood, and rose from the grave for my salvation.  I confess Jesus right now as my Savior and Lord.  God fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can live a life that pleases You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!  If you prayed this prayer and meant it, based on Roman 10:9-10, you are saved.  Welcome into God’s Family
